ToolBank USA Staff

Patty Russart, CEO

Patty Russart joined ToolBank USA as CEO in May of 2018. Since late 2008, Patty was the Executive Director for the Atlanta Community ToolBank (ACTB). She began her career in Engineering for almost ten years, working in bridge rehab and road construction before transitioning to the non profit sector. In 2002 she received an MA in Organizational Management to help her better serve charitable organizations. Her mantra is ‘where there is a will there is a way’ and that is how she approaches fundraising for the ToolBank. Patty successfully completed a $1.525 million Capital Campaign for the ACTB, which allowed them to purchase a much larger warehouse space and add a Tool Training Center.

Trey Bearden, Chief Program Officer

Trey Bearden joined ToolBank USA as Chief Program Officer in July of 2018. Most recently, Trey served as the founding Executive Director of the Richmond Community ToolBank. The process of building a ToolBank from the ground up taught him that action creates clarity, and that the answer is always no unless you ask! Trey lives in Richmond, VA with his wife, three children and a 125-pound bullmastiff named Dakota.

She is passionate about social justice, immigrant and refugee rights; and she works tirelessly to build a more inclusive world.

Vice President of Learning
The Home Depot

The ToolBank is an important vehicle for connecting communities and empowering both teams and individuals to maximize the impact of their volunteer efforts. I’ve seen the ToolBank support volunteers in service across the country, from service projects with Team Depot, our associate-led volunteer force, to neighborhood clean-ups. The Home Depot has been an integral investor in ToolBank USA since its inception, and I am very excited to have a role in the amazing ToolBank movement and how we impact volunteerism nationwide.
