The Charlotte Community ToolBank equipped thousands of volunteers for service projects in remembrance of 9/11 this past weekend. The wide-ranging collaboration was spearheaded by HandsOn Charlotte, and included numerous nonprofit organizations deploying volunteers across greater Charlotte.
The Lincoln Heights community was the site of an entire park built by volunteers over three days. Partners for Parks, a Charlotte nonprofit led the project, and volunteers from The Home Depot wielded ToolBank tools to get the job done. Charlotte's NBC station, WCNC captured the story here.
The total value of tools borrowed from the Charlotte ToolBank for this project was more than $10,600, but because HandsOn Charlotte and Partners for Parks are member agencies of the Charlotte ToolBank, they paid a tool handling fee of less than $320 for the entire 3-day project. |
