Grainger Volunteers Fill 4,000 Disaster Relief Kits

The ToolBank USA team joined our supporters at Grainger at their Chicago offices for their second annual Grainger Disaster Relief Bucket Build. Hundreds of #TeamGrainger volunteers assembled 4,000 disaster relief kits. Buckets were filled with over $125 worth of hand tools and cleaning supplies that ToolBank will distribute while on deployments after natural disasters.
Kicking of the day for the over 400 volunteers was D.G. Macpherson, Grainger’s Chairman and CEO. Macpherson said, “When a disaster strikes almost anywhere in the U.S., ToolBank will be prepared to deliver these buckets to individuals and families to help them start to put their homes and lives back together.” Most recently, these buckets were distributed at a temporary shelter facility in Live Oak, FL to help those whose homes were damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Idalia.

Bucket contents include:

  • 16 oz Hammer
  • Pliers
  • 2 All-Purpose Cleaners
  • Mold Remover
  • 2 Pairs of Safety Glasses
  • 20 Trash Bags
  • 5 Scrubbing Pads
  • Scrubbing Brush
  • Utility Knife
  • Clothesline
  • 50 Clothespins
  • 2 Boxes of Laundry Detergent
  • 2 Pairs of Work Gloves
  • Pair of Rubber Gloves
Many thanks to everyone from Grainger who volunteered and for the support of our Disaster Services program. The ToolBank Disaster Services team looks forward to getting these buckets into the hands of individuals and families who need them the most!
