ToolBank USA helps Corporate Volunteers Build Change

In January, ToolBank USA added Adam Phlegar, Manager for Special Projects and Assets, to our team to help with our corporate volunteerism events. ToolBank USA has partnered with several network supporters to host one-day building events nationwide. Some of our partners include The Home Depot Foundation and their Team Depot Community Build Invitationals, Stanley Black & Decker, UPS, and Grainger.

During these events, volunteers build picnic tables, raised garden beds, planter boxes, park benches, dog beds, and so much more! Then, the various outdoor furniture items are donated to a local nonprofit, school, community center, or park in the community. Some of the communities we’ve visited this year include Fort Lauderdale, Oklahoma City, Puerto Rico, Punta Gorda, Colorado Springs, Savannah, Seattle, Denver, New Jersey, Louisville, Dallas, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, Orlando, Panama City, and Tampa to name a few.

Adam and some of our ToolBank USA team members traveled to these communities and helped 4,800 corporate volunteers with 50 build days. These volunteers built approximately 1,386 items to help their local communities. If your organization would like to host a Building Change Day in 2025, visit our website at https://toolbank.org/get-engaged/building-change/ for more information and to submit a form expressing interest.
