TOOLBANK DISASTER SERVICES:

Tools That Rebuild Communities

Hawaii Response

TDS is sending a team member, Matt Saunders, to Hawaii to assist with recovery efforts. We are sending disaster buckets next week to support the people impacted by flooding. TDS will be sending dehumidifiers and blower fans to the islands. We have coordinated transportation from Oahu to Molokai to assist people on the remote, less-supported island.

TDS as a whole

58 Days until Hurricane Season, our teams in the East and the Gulf Region are preparing for storms.

California

Art is experiencing yet another fire (Crown Fire).

Art has onboarded a new employee in Sacramento, Grissela, who, by his account, is doing an amazing job, getting tools out the door, and really making an impact in the Sacramento area in just a few short weeks. The testamonial below is a result of her hard work.

Support in California continues to strive

(See Note Below)
Dearest Art Garciacano and Gissela Hernandez,
The Mira Loma Alumni and friends, Non Profit, extend our gratitude and thanks for all you did to make our school beautification project possible.  From the moment you opened the doors to our waiting cars, ready to load tools for our project, we were welcomed with open arms and warmth that was deep to the soul. We were touched by the generosity and gracious use of tools to help make our school environment one that we could be proud of. You and Gissela made it all possible. We thank you from the bottoms of our hearts  for caring enough to pay us a visit on campus to see the tools in action! You definitely went above and beyond to see that our project was a success….How lucky the Salvation Army and it’s Tool Bank is to have you in a leadership position. With sincere gratitude, we thank you both for your service to this community!
Best Regards,
Frankie Christie | Board Member of MLAF

Denver

Jaime continues to do outreach and build connections throughout Denver and the surrounding areas. Most recently participated in multiple Home Depot events that were extremely successful.

Dallas

Matt recently executed a flawless FFE with the Home Depot Foundation in Dallas, Texas; his warehouse is in immaculate condition, set up for disaster season should anything happen in the South Central United States.

Puerto Rico

Alejandro continues to get tools into the hands of those who need them on the island, always representing ToolBank with the highest regard. Alejandro’s efforts on the island are certainly making an impact and a professional name for the ToolBank organization.

Windy City

Jess was remarkable, working in multiple states doing tornado response. I received nothing but positive feedback from everything that she was doing and providing to organizations.

Tampa

Carson from TDS Tampa, joined by Julie Italiano, had the opportunity to attend the Fuel Fest sponsored by Reach Out Worldwide, where we had great visibility for all of ToolBank in front of thousands of people. Just a quick shout-out to Carson while leaving the event, and an elderly man tripped up in the middle of an intersection while pushing a shopping cart with groceries. Without hesitation, Carson jumped into action, using his EMS training skills, which he is currently studying, and assisted the man to safety.
