ToolBank Disaster Services continues to expand its national reach and responsiveness through a dedicated network of regional team members and hubs. The following report outlines recent activities, preparedness efforts, and strategic engagements from each region, highlighting our commitment to community recovery and disaster readiness.
WEST TERRITORY:
LOS ANGELES (ART GARCIACANO)
- Leading community bucket distributions and fire response
- Supporting builds and coordinating with The Home Depot Foundation (THDF) Community Build Invitational (CBI) in Coronado.
- Managing disaster services across the West
SACRAMENTO (DAVID DELFIN)
- Conducted field visits to assess tool usage and gather
- Focused on asset accountability for equipment like wood-chippers, log splitters, and sawmills.
MAUI (KIM PINUELAS)
- Advancing ToolBank presence in Maui as a newly formed
- Focused on on-boarding, outreach, and brand awareness across the island.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN TERRITORY:
DENVER (JAIME VALLE)
- On-site support for THDF builds in Albuquerque and El
- Preparing for Montana windstorm response and long-term recovery with the Crow Nation Tribe.
SOUTH CENTRAL TERRITORY:
DALLAS (MATT SAUNDERS)
- Established warehouse operations and inventory system.
- Participated in VOAD coordination calls related to tornado response.
- Stepped in to support other regional efforts as needed.
NEW ORLEANS (DAVID MELANCON)
- Maintaining strong community relationships and disaster readiness for hurricane season.
- Delivered a flawless THDF CBI execution in NOLA, benefiting a community still healing from Katrina.
SOUTHEAST TERRITORY:
TAMPA (CARSON CANADA)
- Coordinating tool and trailer deployments across NC and TN, with outreach extending to KY for tornado relief efforts.
- Locations served: Asheville, Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, Black Mountain (NC); Johnson County, Cocke County (TN); London (KY).
PUERTO RICO (ALEJANDRO CALAF)
- Preparing for storm season and expanding network connections across impacted regions.
- Supporting disaster efforts in Louis after the recent tornado through his broader outreach network.
MIDWEST TERRITORY:
CHICAGO (JESS POHTO)
- Rapid response to tornado-impacted areas with assessments and tool
- Currently supporting recovery needs in Louis.
NATIONAL OPERATIONS:
Jacksonville Grainger Bucket Build – June 3, 2025
Bill Hess led and managed the successful execution of a bucket build in partnership with Grainger at their Jacksonville facility. These buckets, filled with essential tools and supplies, are a critical component of our rapid response capabilities and will support upcoming disaster relief efforts.
