ToolBank USA Announces Grand Opening of the New Orleans ToolBank

A Celebration of Community, Service, and the Spirit of New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA – ToolBank USA announced the Grand Opening of the New Orleans ToolBank, a vibrant new hub of community support, volunteerism, and impact. The event took place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 5:30 PM, bringing together city leaders, supporters, and neighbors for an unforgettable evening in true New Orleans style.

Guests were invited to kick off the celebration with cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres beginning at 5:30 PM, followed by a program of special remarks at 6:00 PM featuring:

  • Trey Bearden, CEO, ToolBank USA
  • David Melancon, Site Director, New Orleans ToolBank
  • Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser
  • New Orleans City Councilmembers, including Councilmember Freddie, who will present a proclamation on behalf of the Council

Adding to the celebration, a traditional New Orleans brass band led a spirited second line to the ToolBank warehouse for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting that officially opened the doors to this transformative resource.

Following the ribbon cutting, guests had the opportunity to tour the New Orleans ToolBank Warehouse, gaining a firsthand look at the tools and equipment that will power community-based organizations, volunteers, and disaster response teams across the region.

“This event is more than a ribbon cutting—it’s a celebration of the partnerships, passion, and perseverance that brought the New Orleans ToolBank to life,” said Trey Bearden, CEO of ToolBank USA. “We first brought tools to the New Orleans area in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida in 2021 to aid in recovery and rebuilding efforts. The need and the community’s response made it clear that a permanent ToolBank was essential. We’re proud to now open our doors to support the parishes of the Greater New Orleans region with the tools and resources they need to build stronger, more resilient communities.”

This one-of-a-kind evening honors the many hands and hearts that have contributed to making the New Orleans ToolBank a reality. From its dedicated staff and volunteers to the generous partners who supported the buildout, the event was a tribute to collective effort and shared commitment to community service.
